A city tour around Santiago

Shopping Tour

Whenever you want to go buy something in Santiago you can visit the different malls of the capital. There are different places for different things. If you want to buy good brand clothes no matter the price of them, you can go to Parque Arauco or Alto Las Condes. Both have the most important international brand stores worldwide. They also have big foodgardens, where you can eat whatever you want in any time. They’re placed in Las Condes and you can arrive very easily on a car or a bus. There’s one mall specially designed for women, because it doesn’t have many stores for men. It’s called Apumanque and it’s one of the oldest from all the malls in Santiago. It doesn’t have too many brand stores, but instead is a much cheaper mall. But if you want to go cheaper you should visit all the Mall Plaza buildings (Plaza Vespucio, Plaza Tobalaba, Plaza Oeste, etc.). The thing is these malls are sometimes much more full of people than the other ones.

Every day we can see more tourists walking around Santiago. The reason is the great places you can visit in this city. If I had to recommend a foreigner a citytour it would be like this: Start at Cerro San Cristobal. You can take great pictures of the city from the top, and have a great experience riding the “funicular”. If you do this at morning, te smog still lets you see the beautiful city laying beneath. Then, go downtown and visit La Moneda and Plaza de Armas. You must have lunch at Mercado Central, te marketplace where you can eat the best fresh fish. I recommend you to try “centolla” a type of crab typical from Chile. Then take a walk at Lastarria, a beautiful street where you can buy cool stuff and have a coffe break. Then go to Museo de Bellas Artes and Parque Forestal. There are always interesting things to see there. You can have an ice cream at Emporio de las Rosas, a typical place known for having strange flavours such as rose, peppermint or ginger. I recommend ending the day at Bellavista, a bohemian neighborhood full of great restaurants, bars and discos.
